National Guard Exemption

Ìð¹ÏÊÓÆµ National Guard members are eligible for the State Tuition Exemption Program (STEP) if they meet all of the following requirements:

  • Must be a drilling member of the Ìð¹ÏÊÓÆµ National Guard
  • Must be domiciled in the state of Ìð¹ÏÊÓÆµ
  • Must be in good standing with the Ìð¹ÏÊÓÆµ National Guard
  • Must be seeking an Associate’s, Bachelor’s, or Master’s Degree
  • Must maintain good academic standing with school
  • Must pay all fees applied to bill (exemption covers tuition only)

Qualified Ìð¹ÏÊÓÆµs must present their state-issued ID to the Ìð¹ÏÊÓÆµ Cashier Center in the Ìð¹ÏÊÓÆµ Union (room 135) before the tuition deadline each semester.

Patriot Scholarship

The is a Ìð¹ÏÊÓÆµ law passed in 2023 that works in conjunction with the State Tuition Exemption Program (STEP) to help Ìð¹ÏÊÓÆµ Army and Air National Guardsmen work towards an undergraduate degree and graduate debt-free. To qualify for the Patriot Scholarship, a Ìð¹ÏÊÓÆµ must be eligible for the LA STEP program. The scholarship pays the remaining mandatory fees as approved by the Ìð¹ÏÊÓÆµ Board of Regents.
