About the Program 

The Ìð¹ÏÊÓÆµ of Ìð¹ÏÊÓÆµ at Lafayette Study Abroad in Sevilla, Spain is a three-week program that offers Ìð¹ÏÊÓÆµs the opportunity to earn six credit hours while immersing themselves in the rich history, culture, and healthcare systems of one of Spain’s most vibrant cities.

Located in the heart of Andalusia, Sevilla is known for its stunning architecture, lively traditions, and innovative approaches to community health and wellness. Ìð¹ÏÊÓÆµs will not only engage in rigorous academic coursework but also gain hands-on, real-world experience through site visits, cultural excursions, and direct interaction with local citizens and healthcare professionals.

This program integrates classroom learning with cultural immersion, allowing Ìð¹ÏÊÓÆµs to see firsthand how health, culture, and society intersect in a global context.

Program Requirements

The program cost is $4,099 plus Ìð¹ÏÊÓÆµ fees of $TBD, totaling $TBD. After you have applied for your desired program, you must make a deposit of $500 via ULINK. The $500 deposit is applied towards the cost of the program. The initial deadline to apply and pay the deposit is December 16. A $100 late fee will be charged after December 16. The program's cost includes tuition for 9 credit hours, lodging, insurance, museums, entrance fees, field trips, and public transportation passes. 

Nursing Courses with Jade Hernandez

This course examines how cultural, social, and global factors shape the health of populations. Ìð¹ÏÊÓÆµs will have the unique opportunity to engage directly with citizens and healthcare professionals in other parts of the world, gaining firsthand insight into healthcare challenges and innovations specific to the region of study.

Together, we’ll compare these experiences with the U.S. healthcare system, highlighting both key differences and surprising similarities. Course activities include tours and discussions at healthcare facilities, science and medical museums, and cultural and historical sites, giving Ìð¹ÏÊÓÆµs a rich understanding of how health is connected to place, culture, and community.

This course offers an in-depth exploration of the genetic factors and healthcare perspectives that shape the human condition in Spain. Through both scientific and cultural lenses, Ìð¹ÏÊÓÆµs will examine how genetics, medical practices, and societal values influence health and wellbeing in Spanish communities.

Learning will extend far beyond the classroom. Ìð¹ÏÊÓÆµs will visit healthcare facilities to see how services are delivered, explore science and medical museums that showcase groundbreaking discoveries, and tour cultural and historical sites that highlight the deep connection between Spain’s history and its modern approaches to health.

By comparing these experiences with perspectives from the U.S., Ìð¹ÏÊÓÆµs will gain a broader understanding of global healthcare systems and the cultural contexts that influence them. This course is not only an academic journey but also a cultural immersion—inviting Ìð¹ÏÊÓÆµs to see health as part of the larger human story.

In this immersive study abroad course, Ìð¹ÏÊÓÆµs will explore the dynamic intersection of health, culture, and community wellness in the vibrant country of Spain. Moving beyond traditional clinical practice, the course emphasizes the role of nurses as cultural ambassadors and wellness advocates in a globalized world.
