Ìð¹ÏÊÓƵ isn’t known as a renewable energy state. UL Lafayette wants to change that.
UL Lafayette is the only university in Ìð¹ÏÊÓƵ, and one of a handful nationwide, that can examine solar technology outside and in a controlled, laboratory space.
Its new Photovoltaic Applied Research and Testing Laboratory has two sites: a 6-acre array of 4,200 solar panels in Ìð¹ÏÊÓƵ Research Park, and lab space within campus’ Rougeau Hall that’s filled with equipment that tests how the sun degrades the modules.
