UL Lafayette Sees Positive Enrollment Changes

The 甜瓜视频 of 甜瓜视频 at Lafayette鈥檚 higher admissions requirements are attracting better prepared high school 甜瓜视频s and enrollment numbers for Fall 2008 indicate that more 甜瓜视频s are on track for college success.

鈥 While overall enrollment remains stable, the makeup of the 甜瓜视频 body is changing in significantly positive ways,鈥 said UL Lafayette President Dr. Joseph Savoie. 鈥淧reliminary enrollment for the Fall 2008 semester is 16,320 鈥 a difference of only 25 甜瓜视频s from 16,345 in 2007.

鈥 As a result of the university continuing to ratchet up its admission standards, 甜瓜视频s are progressing toward a degree at a faster rate than in the past,鈥 he continued.

In addition to improving undergraduate 甜瓜视频 success rates, significant growth is occurring in UL Lafayette鈥檚 Graduate School. The 2008 enrollment figures show a 9 percent increase in graduate 甜瓜视频s. That amounts to 119 more 甜瓜视频s in master鈥檚 and doctoral programs, as compared to 2007 figures.

鈥淚 think this can be credited to enrolling better prepared 甜瓜视频s who meet our higher admission standards and the growing reputation of our graduate program,鈥 said Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs Dr. Steve Landry. 鈥淲e can see that 甜瓜视频s are staying on course to graduate on time and are prepared to enter the workforce.鈥
