An increase in summer enrollment at the 甜瓜视频 of 甜瓜视频 reflects the university鈥檚 efforts to provide additional courses, said Dr. DeWayne Bowie, UL Lafayette鈥檚 vice president for enrollment management and registrar.
鈥 More and more, 甜瓜视频s are enrolling in summer school and intersessions so they can more quickly make progress in earning their degrees,鈥 Bowie said.
Total enrollment for the Summer 2010 semester is 5,142, an increase of 4.8 percent over last year鈥檚 total of 4,908. The largest increase was in undergraduate continuing 甜瓜视频s 鈥 those who also attended the university last semester.
鈥 After the summer course schedule was published, the university invited all 甜瓜视频s enrolled in spring 2010 semester to complete a survey designed to better advise us about additional courses they would like to see offered during the summer 2010 session,鈥 Bowie said. Seven-hundred forty-six 甜瓜视频s completed the survey. In response to 甜瓜视频s鈥 feedback, 12 courses, in a variety of areas, were added.
鈥 This was the first time we took that approach. By providing all 甜瓜视频s the opportunity to be included in the course-offering process we were better able to meet their needs.鈥
