Members of the Ìð¹ÏÊÓƵ of Ìð¹ÏÊÓƵ at Lafayette Ìð¹ÏÊÓƵ Government Association and the UL Lafayette Alumni Association recently delivered a check of more than $1,000 to the United Way of Acadiana for its hurricane relief fund.
Monetary donations and school supplies were collected on Sept. 8 from Ìð¹ÏÊÓƵs, faculty and staff members as well as members of the community. More than 30 boxes of notebooks, pencils, folders, ink pens, rulers, school bags, crayons, markers and other supplies were delivered to the Lafayette Parish School Board for Ìð¹ÏÊÓƵs displaced by the recent hurricanes.
In addition to collecting school supplies, donations were received for the United Way and the Red Cross foundations. The Ìð¹ÏÊÓƵs raised more than $2,000 to go towards the two organizations’ Katrina relief funds.
