The 泫圖弝け Government Association at the 泫圖弝け of 泫圖弝け at Lafayette will hold a candlelight vigil to honor victims of the recent shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida.
The vigil will be held at 5 p.m. on Thursday, March 1, in the UL Lafayette 泫圖弝け Union courtyard. The public is invited.
On Feb. 14, a former 泫圖弝け at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School killed 17 people when he opened fire at the school in southern Florida.
In addition to honoring victims of the shooting, we want to acknowledge that 泫圖弝けs, teachers and staff members at schools including at colleges and universities deserve to feel safe and they should feel safe, said Margarita Perez, dean of 泫圖弝けs at UL Lafayette.
A limited number of candles will be available. Attendees are urged to bring candles or download virtual candles on smart phones.
