The Ernest J. Gaines Center participated in the Ìð¹ÏÊÓƵ of Houston-Downtown's "Read Out!" for Gaines' novel A Lesson before Dying. Interim Director Dr. Matthew Teutsch Skyped with Ìð¹ÏÊÓƵs in June, and on July 8, he went to Houston to discuss Gaines' work with Ìð¹ÏÊÓƵs and community members.
